Where To Begin?
Creating and arranging a ceremony can take up a great deal of your time, so I am flexible, after all, I do this full time, so we can arrange to meet via Zoom, your home, your venue, a café, or any time & place of your choosing.
In our initial meeting, I will outline my services, how I can guide you through creating a ceremony of your choice covering:
- Helpful advice and ideas.
- legal requirements
- options for extra bits such as readings, vows, poems, exchange of rings.
- options for included rituals, such as unity and candle ceremonies and more etc. (see samples below)
- Music
- we will check your IDs while reviewing and completing the legal documents so that you can hand or scan them to me on the spot to make it quick & easy:

- All meetings, phone calls and emails.
- Assistance with completion of all legal paperwork.
- Lodgement and registration of all legal documentation.
- My travel costs within 60 kilometres of Manyana.

I work towards Marriage ceremonies that celebrate your individuality and choices, while carefully including the legal requirements needed for your wedding as prescribed by the Federal Attorney Generals Department and The Marriage Act.
Legal Requirements for Marriage

- Completion of the Notice-of-Intended-Marriage (NOIM) form with your celebrant, no earlier than one month prior to your wedding date, but not more than 18 months before the wedding date.(I like to add an extra day to give time to solve any discrepancies)
- You can start the legal paperwork by following this link Notice-of-Intended-Marriage (NOIM)
- You must be over 18 years of age.
- You will need to provide an original Birth Certificate or Passport (not canceled) as proof of date and place of birth.
- You must provide photo ID such as a passport or drivers licence
- your Passport can serve as both proof of date and place of birth as well as photo ID)
- If you are a divorced person, you will need to provide documentation of the termination of your previous marriage.
- If you are widowed, you will need to provide the Death Certificate of your previous spouse.
- On the day of your marriage you will need two witnesses who are over 18, and preferably who know you.
- All documents in a foreign language must have a certified English translation when to sighted by a Celebrant.
- Before the ceremony but close to it, couples are also required to complete a Commonwealth Statutory Declaration of No Legal Impediment to marriage

- Being a celebrant is a special and important role in the community. It attracts obligations and legal responsibilities. Failure to meet those responsibilities can have serious consequences. As an authorised celebrant I must:
- solemnise marriages under the Marriage Act 1961– external site and Marriage Regulations 2017– external site
- conduct myself in accordance with the Code of practice for marriage celebrants
- Code of practice for marriage celebrants
- comply with ongoing professional development obligations.
- Register marriages with the registry of births, deaths and marriages in the state or territory in which the marriage took place within fourteen days.
